20:00 Thu 08 March, 2012 @ Triskel Christchurch
The tri-dimensional installation made up of twenty screens creates a maze of video projections. The installation greets the public with large structures of floating and rotating video accompanied by a warped surround sound environment that is performed live. Videos of forgotten urban relics, either rendered useless or altered by time, are reassembled into a fictional space. Splintered architectural images create a singular environment – a meditation on urban landscape and collective memory. Through creative arrangements and transformations of black-and-white video, Chantre creates a highly dramatic experience taking place in an atemporal location.
The Audience, taken in small groups, are free to walk around and explore the maze of video from different locations and perspectives in doing so they trigger hidden infra red sensors that alter the content so no one experience is ever the same. There will be two 30min live sound design performances at 8pm and 10pm.
The installation will continue to run in automatic mode for all other times until 11pm.
