A group of young adults from La Ciotat in the South of France attend a writing workshop conducted by famous thriller writer Olivia (Marina Foïs).

Asked to explore reality and fiction through the prism of the town’s industrial past, Antoine (Matthieu Lucci) feels indifferent to a past that is not his own, concerned more with pressing issues of financial insecurity; terrorism; the rise of the far right.

His ideas provoke polemics within the group, but the action becomes chilling when things moves beyond the walls of the workshop to the coves along the rocky coastline.

Laurent Cantet’s (The Class; Time Out; Human Resources) luminous new drama brings together strong themes of conflict that run throughout all his films, and portrays the younger French generation torn by their bleak outlook on future.
